What does 5×1llz mean?
I noticed it somewhere in the million links during the Heroes Happen Here Microsoft Launch. Liked it and Stole it.
I also happen to think it fits with the aim of this website/blog.
What kind of .NET Developer uses Wordpress?
A smart one? It’s streamlined, robust. The medium is not the message in this case. The message is the message and it will be entirely .NET and no PHP. I do think choosing Wordpress was a no-brainer:it’s an open-source project, free, easy to install, has frequent high-quality, releases, is well funded and has a huge community. Why struggle with IIS to trying to install dasBlog or wonder when the next subText release will be? That’s not my goal at the moment, especially knowing I can install WordPress, grab a nice theme and customize it within an hour.
That being said, I do support the .NET community by having and maintaining THIS blog, so that should make up for the fact I’m not using “one of ours” to deliver the message. Don’t hold it against the goal of the blog. Also if anyone knows of a .net blog that’s better than dasBlog/SubText please let me know!
Update: I have recently discovered .NET BlogEngine which is looking promising. I may contribute a theme or useful plugin at some point.
